Just as Team Caisse d'Epargne has won countless one-day races and stage race titles on their Prince Carbon, Pinarello designed the XTrack as an ideal all-purpose bike for their sponsored national teams (which include Spain, Ukraine, Argentina, and Colombia) as they face the challenge of the UCI World Cup and the all-important Olympic Games

Pinarello unveiled the XTrack to huge success, highlighted by 7 medals at the '06 Track World Championships in Bordeaux, including a sweep of the Madison event. A quick glance at the frame makes it evident that the XTrack is fine-tuned for any mass-start track race, as well as timed sprint events. It has masculine, oversized carbon tubing visually reminiscent of the Paris Carbon with two exceptions: The top tube is rounded throughout its length, instead of the scalloping you find on the Paris Carbon. Secondly, the seat tube has an S-bend to it to allow for shorter chainstays, thereby giving you a shorter wheelbase and quick handling.
